The idea behind the OPTIMA Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational is simple: take a street-drivable performance car, flog it in a series of autocross and time-trial events to earn points, and award the overall win to the driver with the most points. There are different classes to keep the competition fair and remain inclusive of the more casual enthusiast, but either way, all of these cars and their builders are badass. This year, Mike DuSold was crowned the winner of the 2018 OPTIMA Invitational driving his 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. This car may not be totally unfamiliar to you as it was featured by us and our buddies at Super Chevy a while ago. The paint scheme, and workmanship of this car is very unique, visually stunning, and obviously functional! It feels pretty surreal to be the 2018 OUSCI winner, DuSold says. Five years ago when I first started competing it was my goal to someday win. It has been a challenge and has pushed me to the brink more than once, so getting here feels very good. Runner up to Mike was Austin Barnes in his 2010 Dodge Viper and in third place was Ken Thwaits driving his 2006 Mitsubishi Evo.
