Description:

Very nicely built 1950 Chevy street rod. 350 Chevrolet V8 with 700R4 4-speed automatic. Very nice paint and bodywork, beautiful interior. Power steering, power disc brakes, and more. Clean, well-built, and ready to enjoy!

The more we look at this 1950 Chevrolet Styleline coupe, the more we like it. The paint job is eye-catching, yes, but the quality shows everywhere you look, from even panel gaps to super straight sheetmetal that doesnt look like it was ever patched up. The tidy coupe proportions make this a very attractive car, and aside from the paint job, there arent any substantial modifications. All the factory chrome and stainless trim remains intact and has been restored, and the glass is quite nice, including the subtly curved windshield that is surely difficult to replace. Theres quite a bit of metallic in the finish, so it glows in the sunlight and skillful pinstriping adds just the right level of detail without going overboard. LED taillights add visibility and we love the twin polished exhaust tips peeking out from under the rear bumper. Add in a subtle tint on the glass, the perfect stance, and a bit of a rumble, and you get a street rod thats incredibly easy to live with.

The interior isnt the usual uncomfortable mix of late-model parts, but rather a professionally finished passenger compartment that adds a lot of neat details to make it stand out. The factory bench seat was reupholstered in burgundy vinyl and tweed cloth, and the additional piping gives it a high-quality look. Custom door panels replicate the flame motif from the exterior, and new carpets give it a luxurious feel. The factory instrument panel is still intact, but the OEM gauges are joined by aftermarket fuel, temperature, and oil pressure gauges underneath, likely a result of the 12-volt conversion. That cool factory AM radio with its vertical orientation remains in place for a finished look, but actual entertainment comes from a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth head unit under the left side of the dash. Other niceties include a chrome tilt steering column with a billet wheel wrapped in matching burgundy leather, a slick shifter with a carbon fiber knob, and a factory heater under the dash for those cooler nights of cruising. The back seat looks unused, and the headliner is as nicely finished as the rest of the interior. There was a good chunk of money invested here. Theres also a neatly finished trunk that includes a full-sized spare under its own custom cover.

The powertrain doesnt color too far outside the lines, but if comfort and reliability are your goal, few choices are better than the 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 that lives under the hood today. Its a great runner, starting easily and idling without much of a fuss, and it looks great thanks to finned aluminum dress-up parts, a chrome radiator shroud, and careful attention to detail. A 4-barrel carburetor feeds the stout small block, and a set of chrome headers takes care of the exhaust. Theres also a big aluminum radiator with an auxiliary electric pusher fan for low-speed cruising on the fairgrounds. The engine is backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, so this coupe is a very relaxed cruiser on the highway. The frame is OEM Chevrolet, but theres a custom front crossmember with A-arm suspension and disc brakes, while the rear suspension appears to be stock Chevrolet. The brakes and steering are power-assisted, making this Chevy very easy to drive and it sounds fantastic exhaling through that Flowmaster exhaust system. Theres also a new gas tank hanging out back. The floors and rockers are in great condition, and its all sealed up with a light coat of undercoating which offers protection without hiding any secrets. 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels are a great traditional look, and they wear staggered 205/60/15 front and 225/60/15 rear blackwall radials.

Were impressed with the attention to detail that went into this build. Its not an exotic custom or over-blown powerhouse, but it combines a great look with user-friendly road manners that you rarely see in cars like this. Someone was sweating the details and wanted to build a car that just worked like it should, and theyve succeeded. If youre looking for a comfortable cruiser that will always attract attention without the worries about a high-strung engine, this is a fantastic choice. Call today!
