During the Golden Age of muscle cars, there were so many options to choose from that you really couldn't go wrong with almost any of the Big Three's offerings. One of those high-powered choices was a car like this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute. From the outset, its fully repainted black body, complemented by a set of full-length white-painted SS stripes, along with its pinned cowl-induction hood, showcases the aggressive lines of the Chevelle from any angle.
Inside, we find a clean black vinyl and cloth interior. A redone split bench seat offers plenty of room for both the driver and front passenger, while a power-assisted, aftermarket steering wheel sits just ahead of a column-mounted 8,000 rpm Sunpro tachometer. A VRVD630 head unit comes with a built-in three-inch LCD monitor, and offers AM/FM/CD/DVD/AUX capabilities as it pumps out tunes via Sony Xplode 6x9 speakers in the back deck. SS badges on the door panels and embroidered on the headrests make this Chevelle feel as racy on the inside as it looks on the outside.
Under the hood, we find a clean engine bay with a 350 cubic-inch V-8 crate engine, on display in all its glory. A single Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor feeds a Bowtie intake manifold mounted on lightweight aluminum heads. Long tube headers expel spent gases through a sweet-sounding FlowMaster dual exhaust. That power is routed through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission before being sent to a twelve-bolt rear end, which transfers those ponies to the pavement via a set of 17-inch Cragar SS wheels shod in modern 245/45ZR-17 Sumitomo tires.
