The second-generation 1963-67 Corvette is an unqualified icon and quite likely the most-collectible of all classic Corvette lines. The 1965 model marked a major watershed in Corvette history with a long-awaited set of 4-wheel disc brakes, now standard equipment on the Vette.
This fine example was produced on January 5, 1965, and features a rare color combination including Ermine White paint, a white convertible top and a one of 216 maroon interior equipped Corvettes. Delivered new to Deanza Chevrolet in Riverside, California, this body-on restoration retains the matching-numbers original drivetrain comprising of a 327/300HP L75 V-8 engine and M20 4-speed manual transmission.
Other highlights of this 65 Vette include a correct shifter, AM/FM radio, correct seatbelts, along with a Bowtie mirror and glovebox door. Correct mechanical details include the air cleaner, distributor, spark plug shields, hoses and clamps, coolant-expansion tank, and radiator.
Other choice details, features, and options include power steering, correct shocks and shielding, T3 headlights, Posi-traction rear end, 4-wheel disc brakes and a period-correct set of 7.75x15 white-stripe tires.
