Toyota is introducing a special edition Land Cruiser that will go on sale this summer. The 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition features bronze accents inside and out, as well as a few other cosmetic updates. The model gets bronze-colored 18-inch wheels featuring a center cap with the Toyota label. The bronze theme continues inside the cabin with contrast stitching on the steering wheel, door trim, center stack, console, and seats. These details contrast with the models black leather upholstery. Other updates include darkened headlight housings, foglights with dark chrome surrounds, and side mirrors with dark chrome details. Toyota deleted the running boards and chrome lower body side moldings youll find on the standard Land Cruiser. It also added black accents on the grille and a special vintage Land Cruiser badge near the rear of the vehicle. Buyers have the choice of two exterior paint colors: Midnight Black Metallic or Blizzard Pearl. Toyota took outa row to maximize space, so it loses the eight-passenger capacity of a regular Land Cruiser. The interior gets standard all-weather floor mats and a cargo liner, as well as a host of other amenities including ventilated front seats, four-zone automatic climate control with 28 air vents, and a power moonroof. The Heritage Edition removes the cool box in the center console of the front seat to provide occupants with more storage options. Like all Land Cruisers, thespecial edition packs a 5.7-liter V-8good for 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Weve clocked a 2016 Land Cruiser hitting 60 mph in 6.8 seconds, not bad considering it weighed 5,874 pounds. Toyota will sell 1,200 copies of the Heritage Edition starting late this summer. Pricing has not yet been announced. The model will make its first public appearance at the Chicago auto show in February, celebrating more than six decades of the nameplate in the U.S. Refreshed for 2016 but based on architecture first introduced in 2008, the current Land Cruiser is still extremelycapable , but needless to say its getting up there in age.
